Thanks for doing the research Dave and holy cow -- don't know for sure but I'm being told that Wall Street continues to run in the same way -- sigh!

It is scary and keep in mind that most of the Treasury, Commerce and Federal Reserve officials for the last four presidential administrations (and who knows how many before that) came from there. And we wonder why Washington doesn't seem to understand the rest of the country and establishes skewed policies accordingly.

I had to go online and find out how much about this crazed and kleptomaniacal person was true. It turns out that most of the scenes in the movie really did happen. Sunk his 200-foot yacht named after his wife. True. Flew (without being licensed)and crash landed his helicopter in the backyard of his Long Island mansion while high on Quaaludes. True. Convinced his friend's (chief Quaalude dealer's) family to smuggle tens of millions of dollars taped to their bodies and in luggage to Switzerland. True. Conned innocent but greedy people out of $100's of millions, committed securities fraud, laundered millions all while high on cocaine, Q's and hookers. True. True. True. True. All while in his twenties. Belfort claims on the movie website that all of the profits from his two books and this movie are going to go to paying the $100 million in restitution he still owes his victims. Was justice served? Maybe? Maybe not. But the debauchery was real.

Thanks to all who attended -- what a fast paced film -- hard to believe anybody could survive all of that ... thanks again to everyone and happy new year!

I suggest before seeing the movie you read A.O. Scott's review in the "New York Times" to get your thought processes moving. it's truly a thought-provoking review.
