I am trying something new with the support of the other organizers; live theater as an alternative to cinema.
(I have added a get together at PF Changs at 16th and J at 5:30 pm for those who would like to get together ahead of time. We will be in the bar section where they have good happy hour specials. Please let me know in the comment section if you thing you will be joining us at 5:30.)
From a New York Times review: "Plays as truthful and touching and fine as Amy Herzog’s “4000 Miles” come along once or maybe twice a season, if we’re lucky." http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/03/theater/reviews/4000-miles-at-the-mitzi-e-newhouse-theater.html?_r=0
"After suffering a major loss while he was on a cross-country bike trip, 21 year-old Leo seeks solace from his feisty 91 year-old grandmother Vera in her West Village apartment. Over the course of a single month, these unlikely roommates infuriate, bewilder, and ultimately reach each other. 4000 MILES is a wonderfully funny, touching and ultimately surprising play about growing up and finding home."
