LOCKE - This sounds really exciting!

I've not been able to attend the last two things I've posted -- lets see if 3 is the charm. Come join Rod and I for this very exciting film that is getting a 89% positive rating on RT: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/locke/

5:45 pm meetup time for a 6:00 pm viewing ( I will be running in from work so will find you in the dark theater -- meetup in lobby after for discussion)

Yeah for great film!

Say more about that, Will? That's one of my favorite books.

I saw each agreement in the movie Locke.
-Wasn’t Ivan Locke impeccable with his word? He was explicit with everything he said and spoke with conviction. He didn’t call people names and tried to speak in a non challenging tone. Didn’t he tell his wife that he loved her?
-He definitely didn’t take anything personal. He understood the reason each person was reacting as they were toward him and he knew he was responsible. He owned that responsibility. He was not offended nor did he react by offending others.
-Ivan did not make assumptions. He suspected that Donal was drinking. But he didn’t make direct accusations without knowing for sure. He asked Donal if he had drank such a beverage.
-Didn’t Ivan do his very best in this circumstance? Even when he was fired, he continued to communicate with Donal to get the job done. He tried to communicate with his family in a manner that left the door open to further understanding.

I see in this movie a strong representation of each point in the book "The Four Agreements."

Locke exceeded my expectations. Steven Knight wrote a wonderful script that kept me engaged and intrigued with what would happen next. Tom Hardy's performance was powerful. I liked and even admired his character and how he tried so hard to maintain his focus in keeping so many personal balls up in the air. This man was trying not only to right a wrong and do his best for everyone impacted my his one serious misaction, but he showed empathy and care for the emotions, feelings, and needs of the others. Check out the Mayo Clinic web site this is not the 1960's, but the 21st Century and today most women are not asleep nor groggy when the doctor delivers a baby by C-section. They have a "regional anesthesia" which allows the mother to see and hear the baby right away. With this information, it is possible she could call him with the news a short time after the birth.

Do you happen to know if this film is in Tower's big auditorium with lots of stairs? Or in a smaller auditorium with no stairs? I ask only because I have a very bad knee that can't do that many stairs. Thank you.

Delphi - Try calling the Tower (916) 442-0985. They probably have scheduled a theater for showing Locke on Wednesday.

Turns out Wednesday won't work for me after all. I hope everyone enjoys the film.

Can't make Wednesday, but the previews captured my attention enough to want to see it at some point.

Its not tho. I almost left the Crest i was so bored. He gets a B+ for the idea but sound is awful & dialogue gets D- in my film logic. Sorry but gotta say it. Did not live up to hype even close for me...
