Stormy Weather-Crocker Art Museum

Built around the premise of a Big Stage Show, "Stormy Weather" affords rare leading roles to some of the era's greatest African American musicians and performers including Lena Horne, Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, Cab Calloway, and Fats Waller. Unforgettable musical numbers include Fats Waller's "Ain't Misbehavin'," Lena Horne's rendition of "Stormy Weather," and the mind-blowing tap dancing of the Nicholas Brothers in "Jumping Jive."

Seating opens at 7 pm; film screening at 8:30 pm

Hi Dave I also was there before 7:30 I looked around but didn't see any sign. I t might be better to hold it up instead of having a small sign displayed on a chair. So i was a bit frustrated at not meeting up with any meetup people.

Thanks to everyone who came and enjoyed this classic slice of 1940's America in a Hollywoodized version of African-American performers. I am troubled when people aren't able to make the connection they wanted to. I was there at 7:30 and had a small "Meetup" sign displayed on a chair near the entrance. Six of us managed to connect.

Well I went early and looked around I did not see any one holding up a meetup sign. What's the point of posting an event if no one is orgazing. I just sat near the front and on the way out I saw three women talking and I said is this the meetup group ? One woman said yes but was vague as to how it was organized. I do hope that in the future there are more exact directions on how to meetup. The point is I would like to meet others but would appreciate more exact directions for meeting up!

I wasn't there, but I'm glad I wasn't. The whole point of meetups is to sit together so that you can build on your friendships, right? These are called "unhosted" events and you are basically on your own. I won't be joining this group after all.

How much are tickets and I am new to group so how would I know how to meet you all there?

$5 for Crocker members, $8 for others. That includes admission to the museum which has a great historic quilt exhibit and African-American Art exhibit right now. You can buy tickets in advance at the link above or at the front desk. I would contact the Crocker a few days before to see if they think they are going to sell out. Look at my picture; I will be holding a small "Meetup" sign so people can identify me.

Hi Carol-I think I already responded to your question but I don't see it posted here so I will offer it again so others can see it. You need to purchase your ticket individually and you can purchase it at the Crocker front counter or over the Internet at the link above. I don't know how tickets are selling so you might want to call and find out if you need to purchase your ticket ahead of time.

I plan to find a seat around 7:30-7:45 pm and will have a small "Meetup" sign for those that would like to try and sit together.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
