$2 Tuesday: The Fantastic Mr. Fox at University Mall

I saw this movie when it opened, and I liked it enough that I want to see it again. It's based on a Roald Dahl story which I haven't read, so I can't comment on the book-to-screen transition. wink But it's funny, sly, and weird, so I recommend it. It's a stop-motion animation story of a fox and his woodland friends who launch an all-out war against the local chicken farmers.

The lead characters are voiced by George Clooney and Meryl Streep. RottenTomatoes.com says 93% of the critics who reviewed it liked it, and sums it up thusly: "Consensus: Fantastic Mr. Fox is a delightfully funny feast for the eyes with multi-generational appeal -- and it shows Wes Anderson has a knack for animation."

Reminder that traffic headed west towards the theater has been horrible lately, so leave earlier than you think you need to! Movie starts at 7:15 so let's try to grab seats a little after 7.

See you there!

It was great meeting everyone. The movie and conversations were fun.

I would be glad to run an introductory RPG session for those interested. :-D

Terrific movie, great conversation afterward at Saxby's. Newcomer Brian was the big door prize winner; an air freshener disguised as a baseball!

Clever, humorous, and crazy. I wasn't sure I'd like it, but I really loved it. Definitely worth the $2. And such a great group of people came out as well! Fun times.

If you haven't seen this movie, do yourself a big favor and go. One of the best movies I've seen all year. Enchanting and absolutely delightful from beginning to end.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
