This is a new location for us; the State Theatre in Falls Church is better known as a venue for live music. They've started a new "Monday Movie Night", though, and tickets are only $3! They're also offering a special $5 dinner menu; like the Cinema and Drafthouse, you can order food and drink to enjoy during the show. Because they serve alcohol, you must be 21+ and show i.d. to get in. Also the tickets are cash only.
Here's the best part; the local Falls Church paper has a coupon in it for a free ticket, so you can save your $3 and use it to tip your server, instead! Yippee! I'll collect a bunch of coupons for everyone to use. Doors open at 6:30 and the movie starts at 7:30. I'll get there early to save a table or two. Let's meet outside at 7pm sharp.
Go to "files" in the menu bar on the left of this Meetup screen to see a helpful parking map. Read "comments" under this event to read what the State Theatre says about parking. The Big Lebowski came out in 1998 and starts John Goodman, Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore and Steve Buscemi. It's from the Coen brothers, who brought us "Fargo", so you know it's going to be weird and funny. The basic plot is that an average joe is mistaken for a millionaire by two thugs who are collecting a debt. He enlists his bowling buddies to help and hijinks ensue. See you there!
I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
