Synopsis: When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.
With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.
As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

It was good! It was interesting that the actors looked so much like the original cas. Nice people and Baker St turned out to be a good choice.

Very suspenseful and fun. I love how the actors match up to the original cast.

Really good movie, in the vain of the "old school" Star Trek.

Sorry, Paulette. Darn auto correct. Lol

I don't know if they have 3-D or not, but I LOVE 3-D! Why do you not want to see it in 3-D?? I think if they have a choice at the theater we could do both. I went with some folks to see Life of Pi...assuming we would be seeing the 3-D version. One of the gals did not like 3-D, so we did not! I was so disappointed. Some movies are made for 3-D. Life of Pi is definitely one worth the extra $$ for 3-D. I saw Iron Man 3 in 3-D and it was a waste of money because it was not designed for 3-D and so that feature was ho-hum. I'll go see the 3-D version of Star Trek close to the same time as the non-3-D version if anyone wants to join me in that theater! Assuming both versions are showing of course.

Sorry about that. Let me know what you find out!

Thanks Paulette for driving this. I'm sure we all appreciate the hard work and if someone doesn't want to go for whatever reason, there's always the next time. :)

Belmar doesn't appear to have an IMAX screen but they show some movies in 3D for an additional charge. So as with any big release they will have shows with and without 3D, we can go to the showing without.

I would say do what the group overall wants to do. If everyone else wants 3D, that's fine. I will have to miss this time. :) Look forward to seeing the final decision. Thanks all!!

I checked out the movie and it doesn't say anything about 3d or IMAX.
If anyone has more info let us know.

Would you advise if you will be seeing this movie in 3D? Don't mind IMAX, but I can't do 3D. :)

I don't know John. I've heard some naysayers and read some mixed reviews.

I love Baker St not the Indian place. It is Saturday we can check it out if it doesn't work we can go to another place. I'll look around.

  • Char

At Belmar, the Indian place is nice and has a private room we can reserve. Or if the weather is good, outside at Baker St is great. Looking forward to it!

The movie time is subject to change. We won't know what time the movie is until the Thursday before the release of the movie. It should be around the 5:00 pm time. Dinner to follow, and I am open to suggestions. We meet in the lobby of the theater first.

What time is the movie and where do we meet? Are we grabbing dinner before or after?

    April 26, 2013

    • James B.

Char, we almost always meet for dinner after the movie at a location nearby. The movies are great, but the dinner and conversations after the movie make it so much nicer than just going to the movie and leaving.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
