Zero Dark Thirty - Definite time and venue!!!

This time and venue is now *OFFICIAL*.

Of course this is directed by Katherine Bigelow (Hurt Locker) and Jessica Chastaine (Lawless, Tree of Life) and is nominated for a best movie oscar later this month (no chance of coming ahead of Argo, even if Argo is by no means certain to win).

The movie is of course about the hunt for Osama's bin's laden, something to do with council refuse collection wars in Bradford? Or possibly the search for the US' most wanted man :-) Two things to be aware of, firstly this is 2 hrs and 17 minutes long, and secondly it is a fair point that you may well know the ending. What is interesting is that the film was delayed because the ending in the script was a fiction at the time, that came true. It is released now, after sufficient a gap to perhaps help people forget what happened...

It will be worth seeing this for Jessica Chastain's central performance which I expect to be similar to characters acted Julianne Moore, but we will see.

I enjoyed the film, like the others i felt the 1st half was not as good as the rest of the film, but maybe it was necessary to show the torture and how maybe snippets of info were received this way, which led to the tracking down of Bin Laden, the performances were 1st class especially Jessica Chastain,

Yes i felt like i'd been tracking Bin Laden for a decade after watching this. I also thought the 2nd half was stronger where the tension really mounted. I'm not that good at doing reviews but i will just say i liked it. It was interesting to know how the CIA had tracked Bin Laden and put all the clues together etc.

The movie got better as it went on, I didn't really like the first section and it had a gripping finale, and a good ending too. Plenty of reasons why it has got a Best Picture Oscar nod, especially the directing, camera work and a fine central performance from Jessica Chastain. Tom hit the nail on the head when he said by the end he felt he's been involved the on screen searching for Usama Bin Laden too. I think the director would be very happy with that sentiment.

Interesting film: not my usual genre, but was a very straightforward account of the long tedious search for
    Osama Bin Laden.
