Lore is a new movie set just after WWII, and I am v happy to report it is coming to leeds, a superb effort by Wendy at the HPPH.
Following email rsvps I am moving this to Sat at 6pm, where it will stay.
The movie looks ace, its about a teenager whose Nazi parents flee and she is forced to try and lead her younger siblings to safety, learning the truth about the Nazi regime along the way, reluctantly accepting the help of an older Jewish boy, along the way. Empire mag describes it as grim and gripping, praising the performance of Rosendahl.
As a Group we did brilliantly at this month's BAFTAs, having seen practically everything that was nominated and I predict now this will also get nominated next year.
I also know that the siblings are forced to try and make the dangerous trip to Hamburg to find her grandmother but I don't want to find out anything else about it here, except the HPPH also liked this very much, saying it was sensual and complex. Golly, so my favourite thing, empathy.
Mega looking fwd to this, sounds splendido.
Sorry about my email earlier announcing the wrong time I got a bit giddy :-)
