Mud

Time is now definite. NB the movie will start after adverts and trailers and is 130 mins long so I reckon it will end at 11pm, hope people are ok to get home at that time (Erin!!)

No, you are not in the Music Meetup group by mistake, and, thank goodness this meetup is more to do with Alligator Shoes than Tiger Feet.

Matthew McConnaughey does seem to adore his Louisiana swamp locations (see The Paperboy) and in this Jeff Nichols directed new release he plays the titular character, who is helped out by a couple of kids when he gets up to his neck in trouble, down in gatorville.

I like the sound of this, but possibly my main motivation for scheduling this is Reese Witherspoon. You see she owes me big time. I thought she was superb in her breakthrough movie Freeway, but she hasn't matched that since, and so I thought I'd give her one more chance . Walk The Line indeed. Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish.

Time and date are now definite!!!

Got my ticket on the way home, there were 17 tickets sold at that stage, and they do *not* think it will sell out. Drink in Royal Park beforehand will be in the little room beyond the bar to left. Use my mobile if unsure 07985 780284. Meet there or at the cinema at 8:15. Get ticket first as I keep saying :-)

    May 24, 2013

  • Siobhan

I've booked a ticket online to make sure I get one! Do we meet in the bar area?

    May 24, 2013

  • sue l.

I can't get there any earlier and don't want to run the risk of it selling out. Ill catch it another time.

    May 23, 2013

    • Frankie

No worries Sue. Cee, its up to you, you will get a ticket easily so long as you donl;t leave it until the last half hour imho. I think we will meet up for a drink at 7:50. Get tkt first. Also we will need to check the queue. I'm just guessing about the popularity of this film but it could easily be very popular indeed.

      May 23, 2013

    • Cee

Thanks Frankie! See you at Royal Park by 7.50 then!

      May 24, 2013

  • Mark

I am going to book a ticket on line, it's only an extra 50p. What time are people meeting in the Royal Park.

    May 23, 2013

  • Frankie

Careful everyone, I think this movie will SELL OUT, so get your ticket in advance, or as early as possible on the night. Drinks beforehand in the Royal Park use my mobile[masked] but get your ticket beforehand obv.

Hi, just seen it on my own, great film! Go for it!

    Yep ! 24th works for me - just about - I'm travelling from 25th for a week.
I'm looking forward to this film after I heard the discussion about it on BBC film program. Franscin Stock compared it with Huckleberry Finn - I believe the director got the idea from Huckleberry Finn but played down that part. It's set around Missisippi ( sorry always get the spelling wrong).

This movie is definitely being shown at HPPH as it was 'trailered' there the other day, so its gonna get switched to there from Vue. This group supports independent cinemas.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
