Filth - Irvine Welsh & James McAvoy - Definite Time & Venue

This meetup is not for everyone, please be warned!

THIS IS NOW A DEFINITE TIME. It is billed for 8:20 but we will get meet at 8:30 sharp, to give us maximum time at Light Night beforehand. Film will start at about 8:50 I guess after ads and trailers. Get your ticket asap and then meet at the escalator for 8:30. Vue uses allocated seats, you must tell them where you want to sit. The target Seat is B14 - 2 rows from back, and 3 seats in to the left as you look up. This applies to screen 9 and I think to all the others. Remember C14 is also a good seat, its on the row in front, but try get row B if you can.

We are definitely meeting beforehand for Light Night and to peruse the forthcoming Film Festival programme. That is also scheduled on this website fyi...

Bear in mind Vue charge a ludicrous amount at £8.45 a ticket. Not that I don't want to sell this, but I'd rather people were aware of what they were letting themselves in for! Hey, but its gonna be great!

We are on my wavelength at least (and hopefully your's) with Filth, penned by Irvine Welsh and starring James McEvoy as the hopelessly corrupted Detective Bruce Robertson, a racist misogynist gobshite (courtesy: Empire).

The website keeps crashing so I will just say that Irvine Welsh wrote this, but it is more hard core than Trainspotting and less hard core than his other book Porno. Porno is a sequel to Trainspotting but Filth is not.

I enjoyed reading the book, but is is hard core, expect some extremely bad language too and unerotic sex, if I remember the book properly, its been a while!

I usually like James McAvoy anyway but thought he was exceptional in this - a very intense and quite exhausting film to watch but well worth seeing. And good company as always.

I probably wouldn't have gone to see this if it hadn't been on Meetup, but glad I did - thanks Frankie

Hmmm, uisng correlation theory it might be wise to get your ticket asap as Jo has done. I'm gonna get mine at 5:45 before the Light Night meetup, which is at 6 ish. Light Night is free to attend and you get a free programme for the LIFF, but the movies at the LIFF are not free to attend...

Well.. Light Night is an evening of events around Leeds City Centre, but as a host I am bailing at 8:30 and am off to see 'Filth'. My main aim with LIgh Night is to get hold of the LIFF programme which is released. Some people who start off at Light Night will continue for the evening without going to the movie. Me, I am off to the movie. xf

Vue not updated theur website yet. They usually do on the Tuesday beforehand so I will do the same. Remember next Friday is Light Night at Leeds and we will go on to see this film IF it is showing at Vue Light that night, otherwise watch this space.
