THE WIZARD OF OZ IS COMING BACK TO THE BIG SCREEN IN LEEDS
In Association With facebook page Leeds Back In The Day, the Cottage Road Cinema is showing a restored print of the 1939 Children's classic this weekend.
The 1939 classic blockbuster “THE WIZARD OF OZ” will be showing at Cottage Road Cinema for one performance only on Sunday 8th December at 2pm.
This will be the first chance for generations to see THE WIZARD OF OZ on the big screen. Part of a special double bill, the film has been digitally restored with incredible sound quality, the popular family film will never have looked so good.
Jason Cullen creator of the facebook sensation Leeds Back In The Day said “The Wizard Of Oz” is without question, the number one family movie of all time. Everyone remembers it as a child.
This year we are offering everyone in Leeds, the rare chance to see this masterpiece just as it was intended on the big screen cinema.
Jason said today; “I am delighted to be bringing such a special film for so many families back to the big screen at the wonderful Cottage Road cinema.”
Cottage Road cinema is one of the longest continually operating cinemas in the world, and recently celebrated it’s 101st year in operation. It still retains many of those original features and audiences thrill at the “Intermissions” just as it was Back in The Day.
“THE WIZARD OF OZ” will be showing for one performance only on Sunday 8th December at 2pm. The show will also include a special Christmas bill before the film. The full show will end at approx 4.30pm
