Leeds Movie Meetup Group - 4 movies for October 2010

I think we have all tastes covered with these four movies, for more info have a look on the website

Firstly Tracey has scheduled The African Queen for next Wednesday at The Cottage Road as part of their Classics at the Cottage season. Should be fun. Friday 14th October I have scheduled Tyrranosaur at Hyde Park Picture House, a gritty UK movie about rage, violence and redemption. Not for the faint hearted. Meanwhile, the 21st has Contagion at Vue Light, although that is an unconfirmed date and venue. Contagion is about a virus that threatens mankind and has a great cast including Paltrow, Damon, Winslet, Law, Fishburne and quite a few more. Last and certainly not least is possibly the movie event of the year, that is Melancholia at Hyde Park Picture House, on the 28th, starring Kirsten Dunst who is approaching her wedding with the worst possible background spoiler, the planet Melancholia has appeared from around the Sun and is about to strike Earth. Gets 5/5 in Empire and is directed by Lars von Trier. Fabby! !

November sees the 25th Leeds International Film Festival. We will be scheduling a dozen movies at least, depending on what is being screened. The programme for LIFF25 is announced next Friday 7th, when we are meeting up at Leeds Town Hall to find out more and enjoy a free screening of Nosferatu.

So now you know.

If you are a Maybe for any of these events please respond Yes on the website and add a comment such as "50/50"...
