  • This location is shown only to members

Meet at Rick and Suzanne's for an evening paddle on the Stillwater River.  Rick and Suzanne lives one 1 mile away from the Stillwater River and has offered to host and shuttle this weeks weekday excursion.  You will need to provide your own boat on this Meet Up.  If you do not have a boat, local rental information is included below.

• Start
We will push off from the shoreline at 7 PM.

• Finish
We should be out of the water 8:30 PM

• Duration
Expect to spend about 1.5 hours on the water

• Pace
We will take a leisurely paddle giving plenty of time for camera opportunities

• Distance
This paddle is 4.5 miles

• Difficulty
This paddle is suitable for paddlers with moving water experience.  You must be 18 years of age or older and sign the liability waiver.  Its not a hard paddle, however their are obstacles to maneuver.

• What You See
The beautiful Stillwater River, wildlife, etc...

• Restrooms

• Food
Bring water and snacks.  We may have dinner locally after the paddle for those interested.

A boat that tracks well would be ideal, but not necessary.

• What to Bring
PFD and all your summer-weather stuff...sun hat / water / sun screen / bug spray, lights, dry clothes, dry shoes, and safety equipment. Food and water. Bring a towel as to respect the vehicle owner in which you share a shuttle.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a wild river and as such, there may be strainers, and obstacles that may require portage. With that said, if you are an adventurous type, have moving water kayak experience read on...

It was a great paddle, lots of fun. A bit "rocky" from time to time (lol) But that added to the fun and the challenges. Thanks for the great shuttle work!!

Little did I know that in addition to the paddle we were going to be treated to a combination scavenger hunt and road rally looking for a restaurant that either wasn't for sale or closed. Great evening. Thanks everyone.

Slow, easy friendly paddle. A couple of places we had to walk a brief distance. But still well worth the effort.Scenic quiet ride. Greay fun. Thanks Suzanne and Rick for hosting.

What about the dam below the Lauver Road Bridge? Will we be porting left, as the map states, or dropping over it? How high is it? Or has it been removed?

    August 3, 2014

    • Suzanne

I think it has been removed, George, but I will check on it. Last summer, when I paddled this section, there was no porting.
