The purpose of this informal MeetUp group is to bring people affected with MS together in a fun, comfortable environment. There is no formal agenda, no presentation and no official purpose other than to meet others affected by MS and that includes family, son’s daughters, friends, work-mates, bosses and people that just want to learn something they heard about because a friend of a friend has MS.
This is not a fund raising event. It is simply a good way to meet others who are affected by the disease (this includes individuals who have MS themselves as well as caretakers, loved ones and family members of those affected) and to talk or not talk about the issues you have in common.
We have the intention to create a community that supports one another, that share ideas from food prep to transportation, to disabled advocacy, to group experiential exercises, featured lectures or movies, to planning group outings; there are many things to play with. May we inspire, educate, inform and share options when there seem to be none.
The more education there is about Multiple Sclerosis the more its ‘understood’ by others that can’t “see” what the problem is because this malady can be illusive and can hide like an trickster twin. In advance, thanks for caring about yourself, your partner and your community.
Let's get creative!
A note about optional entrance to Whole Foods. Once at Whole Foods:
For Elevators: Enter Whole Foods Market through doors numbered 3531 (next to Parcel Place). Take elevators to 2nd floor and go through door market "roof access". Use the intercom if interior door is closed or locked. Once inside, pass by salon desk and proceed to Studio 1, The big one. Generally I will have the doors propped open so the path with be clear.
For Stairs:
Enter store and use stairs near produce department.
