Dear NYCSDUGers,

The NYC SharePoint Developers User Group is tomorrow! If you haven't RSVPed yet please do so now! Remember that in order to get upstairs you need to go to the back of the lobby on the left to the special Microsoft desk. Here's the details:

SPEAKER: Jerry Yasir, SharePoint Server MVP

SUBJECT: Client Object Model & REST Improvements in SharePoint 2013

WHERE: Microsoft, 1290 Avenue of the Americas (bet 51-52), 6th Floor

TIME: 5:30 PM Meet and Greet, 6:00 Presentation

DESCRIPTION:

In SharePoint 2013 developers will have the ability to develop SharePoint Apps that utilize a new, much improved Client OM for reading SharePoint content.  Now, instead of having access to only about 30% of SharePoint functionality you will have access to about 95%!  This demo packed session will provide you with examples of various ways of using Client OM and REST API in SharePoint 2013 to develop applications like SharePoint Apps (and if you don't know what that is you better come to this session!), managed/Silverlight clients and JavaScript enhancements to SharePoint.

Jerry Yasir is a SharePoint Server MVP, SharePoint Practice Lead/Trainer at US Tech Solutions. He holds Master degree in Computer Science with over 11 years of experience working on Microsoft Technologies specially SharePoint, Microsoft .NET & other Information Worker Technologies. He is currently leading SharePoint teams in various projects, designing & installing SharePoint farms, and providing advanced SharePoint administration and development training to teams and customers. He is Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) and have MCPD, MCTIP and MCTS for SharePoint 2010, MCTS MOSS 2007 & WSS 3.0, Silverlight 4, MCPD, MCITP (EPM 2010 & 2007) and MCSD.NET. His blog is http://jerryyasir.wordpress.com/and twitter @jerry_yasir.

As usual we will have pizza and sodas and water courtesy of our ever-faithful founding sponsor, Gig-Werks. And we'll also have some swag for the raffle.

See ya tomorrow!

Kathryn
