Game Day at Your Mom's Basement (Sat., June 1, 2013)

Hey guys. We have a ton of new folks who are in the 1st - 2nd level range, so I'm considering offering something they can both get credit for on some 1st level PCs and have the option to play again in the future. So, in the questions this week I've included one question about module play. Please, please, PLEASE answer at least that question, even if you ignore the other two! I'd like to run a module for everyone but I need to know if we have enough interest to field an entire table. Be warned - if we play a module, it will go well into the next morning!

Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-02 Sewer Dragons of Absalom:

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for Levels 3–7.

Absalom is Golarion’s busiest and most populous city, but one of its largest populations goes largely unnoticed. You must venture into the sewers beneath the City at the Center of the World to stop the meddling dragons within from disrupting a vital Pathfinder Society operation.

Written by Dennis Baker.

Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-08 Among the Gods:

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for Levels 3–7.

The Pathfinder Society sends the PCs to the mountaintop mausoleum and monument known as Antios's Crown in search of a long-lost relic believed to be contained there, but all is not as it seems. Can the Pathfinders survive the denizens of the remote mountain complex and the sinister plot of a powerful cultists who plans revenge on the Society that has foiled their plans one too many times?

Written by Michael Kenway.

Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-09 The Quest For Perfection, Part I - The Edge of Heaven:

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for Levels 1–5.

In the distant land of Tian Xia, the Pathfinder Society's Lantern Lodge sends a team of agents high into the mountains of the Wall of Heaven to an abandoned Iroran monastery in search of a powerful relic to assist them in ensure victory in the upcoming Ruby Phoenix Tournament. Though the monastery has long laid unused by the faithful of the Master of Masters, it is not completely devoid of danger, and the PCs soon discover that merely retrieving the ancient artifact is but the beginning of a much larger quest.

The Edge of Heaven is the first scenario in the three-part The Quest for Perfection campaign arc. It is followed by Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-11: The Quest for Perfection—Part II: On Hostile Waters and Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-13: The Quest for Perfection—Part III: Defenders of Nesting Swallow. All three chapters are intended to be played in order.

Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-11 The Quest For Perfection, Part II - On Hostile Waters:

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for Levels 1–5.

With an ancient Iroran relic in hand, the Pathfinders must make a long river voyage to the inland nation of Shokuro to return it to the only person who can reactivate the long-dormant artifact. Whether dangers take the form of goblinoid menaces on the shores of Kaoling to the north or the powerful armies of Lingshen to the south, the Pathfinders' journey will be anything but a pleasure cruise. Can the PCs survive hostile waters to safely reach their destination, or will they fall victim to the perils of river travel in Tian Xia?

"On Hostile Waters" is the second scenario in the three-part The Quest for Perfection campaign arc. It follows Pathfinder Society Scenario #3–09: The Quest for Perfection—Part I: The Edge of Heaven and is followed by Pathfinder Society Scenario #3–13: The Quest for Perfection—Part III: Defenders of Nesting Swallow. All three chapters are intended to be played in order.

About this Game Day:

This is an announcement for a locally scheduled game day on Saturdays at the Your Mom's Basement in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Games last five hours (scheduled to end at 11:30), but the venue is open until 1 am for gaming, food, and congregation. GMs arrive an hour early for set-up and questions. While registration for events is not required, it is encouraged as registered attendees will be guaranteed a seat for play (information regarding registration can be found below).

We cater to new players and experienced Pathfinders alike, both young and old. All of our members are fantastic and display a true love for the game. We offer a friendly environment to meet new players and to experience the fun of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game with other fans. As a family friendly group we encourage families to join the fun as well. It should be noted that although Pathfinder Society adventures are written with a PG-13 rating in mind, we place no age restriction on play (children under the age of 15 are expected to have parent or guardian supervision during the games).

I look forward to seeing you there!

This Game Day at Your Mom's Basement is hosted by Ryan Blomquist (Venture-Captain).

I'll be running a third table, and if anyone has a preference between a second table of Quest for Perfection, a table of Sewer Dragons of Absolom (tier 3-4), or a table of Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment, speak up.

    June 1, 2013

    • Jim M.

Since I haven't heard anything to the contrary, Sewer Dragons it is. (Though no playing up, since the full tier is 3-7).

    • Ryan C. B.

Ben - note that to play up, you must be within the legal tier range for the scenario. So to play Sewer Dragons of Absalom, you would need to be between levels 3 and 7. Where playing up comes in is if you are within the level range and are between the two subtiers, you can possibly play at the higher subtier if the levels of the players at the table are sufficient to give the total table an APL within that higher subtier.

I'm running Among the Gods, the climactic conclusion to Among the Dead and Among the Living. This scenario is going to be a blast! Be prepared for anything. This scenario can be tough if you don't properly prepare.

My wife Kjersten and I have done Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment, so we would be most interested in Quest for Perfection, I think. Levels 1 & 2, variety of classes available.

And I would also like to thank those who have stepped up to make this happen! You guys rocks! Crazy-sugar Mexican Coke on me!

Any update for those on the waitlist?

    May 31, 2013

    • Jack B.

haven't heard anything... I plan to check in the afternoon.

      June 1, 2013

    • Ryan C. B.

We have our second GM confirmed! Thanks to Robert Matthews for being willing to step in. He'll be picking up Among the Gods while I handle Quest for Perfection.

      June 1, 2013

Is there going to be two tables, or is there a possibility for three? I know my waitlist is pretty unlikely, but put it in there anyways.

    May 31, 2013

    • Jack B.

FYI - I have played neither, so could play either. Also, I could probably GM a third table... but would need to know VERY quickly, as I would need time to prep (I am pretty much done prepping Frostfur Captives for tomorrow at Tower, and do have pretty much everything ready so that I could run it again. I could also run We Be Goblins tomorrow. However, I would need to know for sure pretty quickly so that A) i would be ready and B) I would have time to cancel an event for tomorrow evening.

      May 31, 2013

    • Jack B.

well, Champions game (my evening event) was canceled... now just need to know if I should make the trek up to WBL... and what I should bring.

      May 31, 2013

  • Ben B.

Can all those on the waitlist be let known if the second table is going to happen soon? I would like to spend Saturday night gaming and then heading out to a bar afterwards, but if there isn't a second table I will plan a different evening for myself.

Waiting on the waiting list... Hoping we can get that second table!

    May 29, 2013

  • Kjersten G.

Do you have room for a level 1 and level 2 at this point? We were there yesterday and played with the group. :)

    May 26, 2013

    • Jim M.

Put yourself on the waiting list. It's likely a second table will get added.

      May 29, 2013

  • Jim M.

I have played both and could GM either.
