Table: Noah, J Michael, Bryan G

In the rural Menador Mountains of southern Nidal, the PCs find themselves in a fog-enshrouded mining town facing a terrible fate. Silver Tarn, on the banks of which the settlement of Stom's Claim stands, has grown a mind of its own. Reaching out with strange abominations of the deep to siphon the souls of the stubborn populace, the lake hopes to release a powerful fiend bound centuries earlier by Arodenite clerics. If the PCs can't stop the Silver Tarn Entity, Stom's Claim and much of western Avistan may soon fall to a fate beyond comprehension.

Table #5: Pathfinder Society Scenario #4–21: Way of the Kirin

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 3–7 (tiers 3-4, 6-7).

GM: Kjersten Gibson

Tier 3-4

Table Cancelled

Table:

On the eastern continent of Tian Xia, the Pathfinder Society remains a small player in the greater political landscape, but Amara Li, head of the Lantern Lodge in the teeming city of Goka, has plans to change that. In order to secure the Pathfinder Society's place as an influential organization on the far side of the world from the Grand Lodge in Absalom, she must orchestrate an alliance with the mysterious Way of the Kirin. But the longtime rival of the Pathfinder Society, the Aspis Consortium, has plans to form an alliance of its own, and if the consortium succeeds, the Pathfinder Society's hopes of cementing their place in the Dragon Empires could be dashed forever.

About this Game Day:

This is an announcement for a locally scheduled game day on the second and fourth Thursday of every month at Legion Games in Burnsville, Minnesota. Games last five hours (scheduled to end at 11:00) and the GMs arrive early for set-up and questions. While registration for events is not required, it is encouraged as registered attendees will be guaranteed a seat for play (information regarding registration can be found below).

We cater to new players and experienced Pathfinders alike, both young and old. All of our members are fantastic and display a true love for the game. We offer a friendly environment to meet new players and to experience the fun of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game with other fans. As a family friendly group we encourage families to join the fun as well. It should be noted that although Pathfinder Society adventures are written with a PG-13 rating in mind, we place no age restriction on play (children under the age of 15 are expected to have parent or guardian supervision during the games).

I look forward to seeing you there!

This game day hosted by Kjersten Gibson (Event Coordinator for Legion Games).

What? No comments on that sweet ass map for Haunting of Hinojai? Tough crowd...

    October 11, 2013

    • jon d.

There is no map for the town. And I am intamently familiar with the scenario. This was one I executed to hate and ended up absolutely loving. This style is right in my wheelhouse.

      October 11, 2013

    • jon d.

Kjersten, we can work out the return.

      October 11, 2013

  • Mark G.

FUN! The Disappeared was a great scenario. Thank you Sarah for GMing a great gaming experience for me. And thank you to everyone at the table for using the awesome power of teamwork.

    October 11, 2013

    • Sarah W.

You're welcome, and I'm glad you had fun :)

      October 11, 2013

  • Ralene M.

I realized after I got home last night that the GM didn't sign and fill in the info at the bottom of my chronicle sheet. Would I just get Kyle to sign it next time I see him at a game?

    October 11, 2013

    • Andy C.

      Yup, that should work fine

      October 11, 2013

  • Jolene

Ahhh that time you played the haunting but then spent a day on an encounter not in the scenario... Lots of fun!!! Anthony had a great time as well.

Big thanks to the GM tonight - Ryan, Sarah, Jim and Dr. Awesome! :-) Sorry Way of the Kirin didn't go as hoped. Thanks Ryan for not killing anyone, but sorry about the baleful polymorph. Catling was just so excited to try it out....

Good group all around for Severing. Had a lot of fun being the boisterous bar proprietor. If only my group walloped on the <redacted> like this one..

    October 10, 2013

  • Dave S.

Excellent as always! Thanks Kyle for GMing

    October 10, 2013

  • Ralene M.

Awesome game! We had fun having our character drink and look and cause a good portion of trouble.

    October 10, 2013

  • Jim M.

It's looking like I will be leaving work late tonight, and so could be ~25 minutes late. I would be grateful if someone at my table could corral the group together, figure out the sub-tier and get a session sheet filled out. That way we will be able to hit the ground running when I show up tardy.

    October 10, 2013

  • Sven

Hmm... two spots open at Tier 7-8 eh?

    October 10, 2013

  • AndrewU

Sorry very unlikely I can make it. Other obligations

    October 10, 2013

    • Kjersten G.

That's alright, it happens. Next time. :-)

      October 10, 2013

  • Jessen1977

I have too much homework and a midterm. See you in two weeks.

    October 10, 2013

    • Kjersten G.

I'm sorry, next time though. :-)

      October 10, 2013

  • Marc G.

i'm droping, was really hoping to play Kirin, played all the others, or don't have a lvl 7

    October 10, 2013

    • Jolene

There's always a pregen! I think most of the people that usually go to these have already played both way if the Kirin and rivalrys end do it might be hard to fill it for a bit until the newer people have 3-7 tier pcs.

      October 10, 2013

    • Kjersten G.

      I'm sorry Marc, I really tried! :-(

      October 10, 2013

  • Kjersten G.

I have cancelled the Way of the Kirin table due to lack of interest. I'm sorry. :-( We're sticking to 4 tables, unless there is a huge surge of sign-ups last minute. Gary - you have been seated on a 1-2 table. Marc - are you able to play Below the Silver Tarn?

    October 10, 2013

  • Kjersten G.

Is there anyone level 3-7 that would like to play Way of the Kirin instead? I can offer a table of that scenario or an additional tier 1-5. Please let me know! :-)

    October 7, 2013

    • Robert Edwin N.

I had signed up for Silver Tarn, but a 7+ combat season 2 on a Thursday doesn't appeal to me right now.

      October 9, 2013

    • Kjersten G.

You want to GM a 1-5 scenario instead? :-)

      October 9, 2013

  • Jolene

I'll have an Anthony coming with me. He's from Milan and is in town for work with my company. He's played D&D but if he could just play a pre-gen, of any sort that would be awesome. :) thanks!!

    October 9, 2013

  • Dylan

I'll join with 4-11 if I can kitty.

    October 8, 2013

  • Kyle

    Need a Severing Ties GM?

    October 7, 2013

    • Kyle

      Dr. Awesome is fine

      October 7, 2013

    • Kjersten G.

Dr. Awesome it is. I expect your next character to be known as Dr. Awesome.

      October 8, 2013

  • jon d.

I have the map for Hinojai (mansion and grounds) printed and am willing to loan it out to whomever is running this fabulous mind-bender.

    2 · September 11, 2013

    • jon d.

So, who plans on meeting me for the map exchange? There is a remote chance I could drive to Legion but it is unlikely.

      October 7, 2013

    • Kjersten G.

I can try to meet you somewhere this week. Send me an email and we can figure it out. :-)

      October 7, 2013

  • Bryan G.

Kitty, I played The disappeared, severing ties and haunting. Any chance for a 4-5 of way of the kirin?

    October 6, 2013

    • Kjersten G.

I still need another GM and I still have level 1-2s to fit on tables. And I also don't know if we'd be able to fill a table of Way of the Kirin. Have you played Below the Silver Tarn? That table still needs players.

      October 7, 2013

  • Jim M.

I'd be interested in GMing either The Haunting or Severing Ties.

    September 26, 2013

    • Kjersten G.

      Awesome! Thank you!!! :-)

      September 27, 2013

    • Jolene

Don't turn me into a sea creature this time!

      October 1, 2013

  • Mark G.

Mark is a popular name at my table. :-)

    October 1, 2013

    • Mark G.

      You distracted by the tigers.

      October 1, 2013

    • Kjersten G.

I don't think the tigers get to come out and play that night. Looks like I'm GMing something....maybe I'll throw a tiger in just for fun! :-P

      October 1, 2013

  • Bryan G.

Kitty I have played these are there any others we could try? Like way of the Kirin or something?

    September 9, 2013

    • Kjersten G.

Did you want to GM one of these? Sounds like Jon's got a ton of advice for Haunting of Hirojai....AND you get to apply the credit to your character without the risk of death...

      September 13, 2013

    • Kjersten G.

If you can find 4 people interested, I can TPK, I mean run, Way of the Kirin for you.

      1 · September 17, 2013

  • Mark G.

    Are there Tier 3 scenarios? I see 1-2 and 4 -5...

    September 13, 2013

    • Kjersten G.

Nope, level 3 characters in general have to pick between playing up at a tier 4-5 or playing down at a tier 1-2 (depending on the level of the other characters at the table). There are scenarios that are tier 3-7, so they'd be tier 3-4 & 6-7, but I there's only 11 of those scenarios of the 110+ scenarios they've released...

      1 · September 13, 2013

    • Sarah W.

There are also a few 1-7 scenarios in the earlier seasons, which have tier 3-4 in the middle. But like Kitty said, mostly you end up playing up or down to the 1-2 or 4-5
