Granite Mountain - Brown's Ranch

  • February 16, 2013 · 11:00 AM

The trails surrounding Granite Mountain in the eastern section of the Browns Ranch network have been professionally restored and are ready to welcome intrepid mountain bikers.    They now connect to beautiful new trails around Cholla Mountain further west in the Browns Ranch area.

We plan to ride for about 2.5 - 3 hours and experience first-hand the stunning scenery in this area.

PARKING

When you are heading north on 136th street and you are approaching the power lines, there is a mimimal amount of parking right at the trailhead.  If it is full, Lone Mountain is on your right.  Parking is allowed on that street.

Please bring plenty of water (100 oz.), snacks and other nutritional supplements.

Helmets are mandatory.

We will plan to get something to eat following the ride, so please join us if you can.

Great weather, scenery and people. I was pleasantly surprised there were no mechanical problems or flat tires with 20 riders. (and lots of cholla cactus!)

Hi, I won't be able to attend this weekend, but would love to explore these new (to me) trails. I will be riding in the area on Thursday. Do you know if there are maps. / routes available for me to check out Thursday? Thx! Kim

Kim, the trails around Granite Mountain are brand new, literally built within the last month. There are no maps yet. We will be riding them frequently, so please join us on one of the upcoming rides. Thanks!
