Physical Activity Demands: Intermediate. This is NOT an intro or novice ride. People should be very comfortable on their bikes and be able to handle significant slope & elevation gains.
Fun Factor: 4 out of 5 Stars - the views are fantastic
Technical Ability: 7 out of 10.
Trail: Immediate steep ascent. Varying conditions from steep shale rock, to roots in tight tree descents, to muddy creekside trails. There will be switchbacks and areas where you must carry your bike.
Meet up at scheduled times at Shouldice or at the Trailhead for this 21km ride. If enough additional people wish, we could set up a shorter route (note that it will still be intermediate level) that would be 12 instead of 21km. See http://www.bikepirate.com/x-country-trails/powderface-creek-to-prairie-link/. I would ask for another lead for this group and probably another Meetup signup event if there is enough interest.
We will definitely do some beverage hydration and protein accumulation after the ride (eg- beers & food in Bragg Creek) for those inclined.
