Is anyone interested in skiing Goat Creek trail next Saturday, Dec 14th? I've never been out there in winter, so not sure if it's best ski it from Canmore to Banff as a shuttle, or as an out and back from Banff. Thoughts?

I've done it quite a few times over the years. Skier bob has an update here, http://skierbob.ca/20... . From the sound of it, it's not currently possible to run the full length of the Rundle range.

When I read the report, it sounds like it is possible to go all the way though.

The Banff trail report says that there are bridges still out:

http://www.pc.gc.ca/a...
A new bridge at the end of Spray West trail will arrive by helicopter on December 23, 2013, with immediate installation to follow. Depending on construction and weather conditions, Spray West and East trails may be trackset and available for skiing as early as Christmas. Bridge reconstruction at the Goat Creek junction (10km from the Spray Trailhead over the Spray River) is scheduled for spring 2014. Although the trail remains open, travel is not recommended from the Goat Creek bridge to Banff due to the absence of the bridge across the Spray River.

There is a new Skier Bob report from 2 days ago:

It sounds like you can do a good out-and-back from Canmore, but I'm still not clear on whether you can go all the way through to Banff. In any case, I'm interested in skiing somewhere this weekend.
