No Show Policy


This policy will be in effect for all meetups where attendance is limited.

"Maybes" have been eliminated by Meetup Headquarters so you are now required to make a commitment. If you RSVP "Yes" to an event we expect you to be there. If something comes up at the last minute we understand, but please give one of the organizers or the event host a call if you can so we'll know that you will not be attending. That way we are not sitting around waiting to order dinner and/or start the tour.


Two Strikes Policy

A member who has had 2 "No Shows" or "Last minute changes" within a 2 month period will be removed from the group. We do not want to have to remove anyone, so please do not make us have to!

Definitions:

• No Show- a member who has RSVP'ed "yes" for an event but has failed to attend or contact an organizer or the host of the event.
  
  
• Last Minute Change- a member who changes their RSVP from "yes" to "no" within 24 hours of the start time of the event.
  

FAQ

Why the cut-off on changing your RSVP on the website?

This is because the organizer and/or host of the event will not be at their computer so close to an event. Many have to drive 30-45 minutes to arrive to an event, or are busy setting up for the others to arrive.

What's the big deal if I don't show up?

• If the event was full, someone else may have been on the waiting list who would have enjoyed coming in your place.
  
  
• Discussing whether you're coming or not, deciding whether to go ahead and order dinner or not, worrying if you're dead in a ditch somewhere or not, takes up time and energy we could be using having a good time.
  
  
• Reservations for restaurants and tours are often made in advance. When we don't come through with the amount of people we have promised we end up taking spaces that other paying customers could have filled. It reflects badly on the meetups in general and makes us unwelcome in many businesses.
