Alphonse Mucha: An Insight into the Artist

For this meetup, we are going to check out an exhibition called "Alphonse Mucha: An Insight into the Artist," which is currently held at the Mori Arts Center Gallery.

"The exhibition 'Alphonse Mucha: An Insight into the Artist' is a major retrospective of the renowned Czech Art Nouveau artist Alphonse Mucha. It will feature many works that have never been shown in Japan before, as well as a wide range of oil paintings, studies, sketches, jewellery and posters from the Mucha family collection, including iconic posters of the legendary actress Sarah Bernhardt, for which the artist is widely acclaimed. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Mucha Foundation, represented by John Mucha, grandson of the artist."

(from the official site of the exhibition)

Based on the description given at the official website, this appears to be a "cash cow exhibition" for the Mucha foundation. Also, there was an exhibition of Mucha, which showcased the collections of the foundation, at Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum back in 2005, so some of you must have seen the works exhibited in this show already. I myself saw the 2005 exhibition, but I do not mind seeing Mucha's works again in this show as I love them. Hopefully, some of you are interested in spending Friday evening, immersing in the world of Alphonse Mucha.
