March 29th is the first of this series at the de Young Museum. This is a special event separate of the exhibits where the museum is open late Friday and open to the public for free! There’s a wide range of activities: live music, lectures, dance, art-making, observation deck, etc. each Friday is different. Since this is the first of the series, the activities should be extra special. The museum is also offering special drinks and cafe menu. The regular exhibits are open for a reduced fee. If you haven’t been to one before it is an experience one reviewer has described as the museum the way it should be: free, lively, hands-on, etc. something for everyone.
Depending on how many RSVP, we’ll have two groups, a “senior” and a “junior” with a host for each. Each member decides for themselves what group they’re in. Digne will host the senior group, and Amy will host the junior group. Each group size will be limited to make it more nimble to move about and socialize. This will be the first time the BAMMG has scheduled this so members should expect more of a festival rather than a museum setting.
Social event: depending on the host, we’ll gather at the museum cafe or nearby restaurant to relax and chat.
Schedule: Meet us at the museum _____ by 5:45, be ready to go by 6:00; art from 6:00-7:30±; social from 7:30-8:30±.
About a week before the meetup we’ll ask you to confirm with your cell#. The hosts be available for text messaging for lost members or for itinerary changes. Some venues will be too loud for voice contact or require silence.
Lastly, please don’t RSVP if you’re uncertain or juggling commitments for that day. You must commit to the whole schedule of art event and social gathering because that is the mission of this group. Overall, meetup is about forming a community.
