Announcing a new Meetup for Culture and the Arts Meetup!
What: Microscopic Art- last day of this exhibit by micro sculptor Willard Wigan
When: Saturday, March 27,[masked]:00 AM
I can't believe this event is in town- this is the last week and I just found out! I've seen this artist on CBS the past couple years. His art work is truly unbelievable- it literally exists on a microscopic level. You have to use a microscope to see it. He was on CBS Sunday Morning today talking about his Alice in Wonderland and how he accidentally inhaled Alice while working on her hair. His instruments include the hair of insects to use as a brush. The art lives in the eye of a needle or on top of a pin head on some works, to give you an idea of how tiny they are.
Admission to the Atlanta Art Gallery is $5- donated to the Atlanta Public Schools Fine Art Dept- those programs could be on the chopping block with Fulton schools slated to cut 1,000 jobs.http://www.atlantaartgallery.com/About.html
