Welcome to MCOH and glad that you are reading this because you are finding out more about us. If you are into classical music, jazz or anything that has to do with wellness and music, please read on. We present FREE concerts and lectures throughout the year. Some are member concerts and some have an admission fee but all and all it is about bringing music into the community.

Our new WELLNESS program will begin in June with four (4) Music Therapy Workshops on Monday mornings at 10:00am at the Anne Kolb Nature Center. The notion of music and wellness is being explored in rehab centers and hospitals now and is one of many occupations that a musician can look into.

Music and medicine, an age old formula had been used for healing in different cultures. Fast forward to the present, we see musicians helping patients to cope during surgery, rehabilitation time or to elevate mood. The subjects we will explore are:

Week 1: Cognition

Week 2: Motor Skills

Week 3: Emotional Expression

Week 4: Relaxation and Mood Elevation

MCOH is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and has been in continuous existence for more than 62 years with a focused purpose of investing in the future of music through music scholarships, regular meetings to enjoy local artists, member sing-alongs, and providing music appreciation classes for music enthusiasts.

MCOH is part of the National Federation of Music Clubs, a non-profit philanthropic and educational organization dedicated to music education and promotion of creative and performing arts in America since 1898. Our mission is to advance and develop American music and musicians.
