“ I have gone to two open mics and hosted the last one...it is such an amazing experience to be back in rock and roll again. The people are so talented and appreciative of others' talents. It's a very laid-back, supportive atmosphere. I love the venue too...Head House Cafe rocks...excellent Sushi and great appreciation and attention to detail! Madame Saito can sing really well too! Come hear her next time! :) And bring friends to play their music too as well as hear everyone and enjoy good food and drink! “ I showed up for my the first time only to find out it was cancelled without any notice on Meetup. It was a 1-1/4 hour drive to get there and find parking, so I was less than pleased! Better call ahead of time to make sure it's on. ”

“ This was a great night! I had a wonderful time meeting everyone! I didn't get a chance to talk about music with anyone however, keep me in mind for the future meetups. I have written over two dozen unpublished songs from hip pop to pop to country and now I am writing and composing for Blues! I look forward to seeing many of you at future meetups!!! chiao! ”

“ I second what Will wrote. Please, please update your info so it will not cause miscommunication or needless travelling! We traveled quite a distance to get to the Fig Cafe for the Open Mike only to find it was cancelled from now on. Very frustrating. ”
— Amy K. on Mar 22, 2012.
“ This was my first attempt at a meetup with this group and it left a sour taste to find the meetup information was not kept current and therefore caused considerable inconvenience to a number of members who signed up for and travelled to a non existant event. ”

“ Really friendly, helpful, supportive, insightful, present leadership and membership. Creative collaboration opportunites far more than elsewhere. Possibility of internet radio in future. Big membership with multiple open mics, but I still prefer Coquette...very different. ”

“ Very laid back, cool people with some great originals, great singing, and good playing going on. I'd say come on out just to check it out and you'll get pulled into the fun. George the bartender is one of the best. ”

“ I haven't been there in over a year, so I'm looking forward to the next event. Like all events, you have some really good acts and some not so good; but it's a great venue for artists to meet. ”
— troyhendricks on Nov 21, 2009.
“ The group leadership seems to have a heavy focus on visual arts and only a peripheral interest in music. I had a conflict for the last event they ran that appeared to be primarily musical. That was last May. Since then, the events they've sponsored have either featured music as an addendum or not at all. I think they should change their name to something more reflective of their actual activity ”
— Chris on Apr 29, 2008.
“ I want more of it. I love the concept of meetups and i love the idea of the fortress of the arts. I can't wait to meet more folks. I could see an event where players and singers mix on stage. Less prepared performances more speculation. Mix it up a bit. The canned music is very cheesy. Maybe with a little effort those singers with recorded music could hook up with some players beforehand. It would be so nice. Thanks again so much. ”
— Marshal M. on Feb 18, 2007.
“ When I say 5 estimated people attended, I left early - so it's a guess. Bad weather I'm sure kept many people home and those that showed this time including me were late due to it. Good people in this group. Now it's o.k. for everyone else to show at the next one. ”
