Well, I guess Hidden River Arts, my arts organization, would be one reason - we produce open mic events at a few venues in the city, and have just partnered with an organization on the Main Line to bring live events out there, too. So, I bring that network and those venues to the table. As far as other interests - writing, theatre, literature, visual art, world religions, the Renaissance, foreign languages (which I'd like to learn to speak well, but for now speak badly). yoga, meditation, vegetarian/vegan foods and other kinds of organic/local cooking....and revolution.
I like coming and hearing live music, meeting the musicians, network for possible collaboration with my own events. Picking seven bands is really tough - okay - I'll just pull a bunch of them out of the air here - Led Zeppelin, Terry Reid, Phil Ochs, Muse, Faun, Breaking Benjamin.....and I have no idea how I picked those. Tomorrow it will be a different seven. I know Phil Ochs is not a band. I like political musicians who want to overthrow tyranny. I like great voices - like Robert Plant and Terry Reid. I like pagan folk music. And like Stephen Sondheim. Does that fit here anywhere?

I'm a singer, don't need photos (use Deb Boardman for my headshots, in case you are searching for someone good).
I'm a writer and playwright. Love Dave's open mics! I'm the Founding Director of Hidden River Arts. Among other things, we hold live events at venues in the city. Check out my meetup page for further information!
I've attended a lot of the activities of the network, and always enjoy the events. The people are warm, friendly and welcoming. The musicians are terrific. I recommend these events highly.
