That crazy guy, Nick, is at it again:

Well, folks, it's about that time again. As I have pointed out many times before, I make my living helping kids prepare for the SAT and ACT. This Saturday is the first SAT of the year, which means this Friday, I'll be looking to blow off some steam...

With that in mind, it's time to cry havoc and let slip the dogs of JAM!

So this Friday night, I'll be pleased and/or honored to host yet another pickin' party. The drill is as follows: bring yourself, an instrument or two, a willingness to sing (or yodel, or hum, or rant, or whatever), a friend or two, and, just to make it all that much more interesting, a munchable and/or drinkable treat to add to the pile. We'll start in the 8pm vicinity, and we'll end when we're all good and tired.

We had a nice group turn out last time--I would love to see you all again!!

The Details:

Who: You, me, them, everybody, everybody....
What: Jamtastic Jamuary Jam
When: Friday, Jamuary 25, 8pm until....
Where: Nick's Place, 12607 Sandpiper, 78233 (call me at[masked] if you need directions)
Why: Because it won't get better unless you pick it
How: As if our very lives depend on it.

[And I want to point out that it isn't just anyone who can work Bob Seger, Blues Brothers, and Shakespeare references into the same invite. Professional grade, folks!]

Thanks for being the gracious host you are, Nick! The change up of the table spread was delicious. Guess I should start learning new stuff for the next time. :)

Pedro, go to www.SAPickers.com and click the SA Picker TV link. On the right side of the page is a tab that says Videos. Go there and you will see the recordings from the other night.

I am quite new to this. I have only been playing a guitar for 4 months and am interested in music. I am working through the Gibson Learn and Master guitar lessons, and per one of the lesson video clips Steve advised that one should try and go out to these. The promote growth in my playing and inspire to keep playing and not quit. This seems to be a sound theory, however I wonder if many folks that are experienced get tired of having noobs in a group. I do not want to offend. Also I like to know what should one bring when coming to a group like this? I thought going once and seeing what it was about would be cool, but came down a bit under the weather. Also I had lost my equipment to home theft.

Hey, Eric--new players are always welcome! Bring your guitar and a snack to share. (Frankly, the snack is negotiable. Just bring a guitar!)
