    “ If it works, it would be a great idea. It didn't work for me last night, though it ended up being good in a totally different way. I flew from Los Angeles to be here for 10 days to do reconnaissance for a move here in April, and it was important to me to go to this meetup. In fact, I joined the group months ago, and kept RSVPing Nos but adding in comments to not delete me and that I was coming to one soon. So I'm not bagging the concept -- I just think if people aren't going to show up they should send out an email to the people that have RSVPed telling them that they won't be there but encouraging them to go anyway. ”
