The Mount Vernon Urbanites is a social organization for young professionals who live or work in the neighborhoods of Mount Vernon & Midtown Belvedere in Baltimore City, Maryland. Exceptions can be made for past or prospective residents.
Since our group is really all about neighbors - residents of other Baltimore City neighborhoods are encouraged to join the Baltimore Newbies (for new residents or residents looking for new experiences) or the 20s & 30s Baltimore Nightlife Group - both of which are city-wide groups. If you don't have a connection to Mt. Vernon, please look into these groups. The password below is just to see if people are scanning this or actually reading it. The first word of the password is "Robert." A connection to Mt. Vernon means you live in Mt. Vernon or a surrounding neighborhood: Charles Village, Bolton Hill, Downtown, Seton Hill. Or you work/study IN Mt. Vernon.
Technically, if you're 20, you are in your 20s. But we ask that all new members be at least 21.

Our Mission - The Mount Vernon Urbanites connects neighbors to explore and support our community.
Our Goals – Our primary goal is to connect neighbors so they can make friends who live nearby. We believe that a close neighborhood is a much stronger, safer, and more sustainable neighborhood. When urban residents have friends in the neighborhood, they are much more likely to eat, shop, dance, drink, work & workship locally. Residents who are well connected in their community are also more likely to want to support that community – whether it's picking up litter in the park, planting trees, or joining the Community Improvement Association. Lastly, residents who build a neighborhood network are much more likely to buy property and become life-long members of the neighborhood.
Note:The Mount Vernon Urbanites is a membership organization that is completely volunteer run. Membership dues & donations will be used exclusively to pay for the group's operating expenses.
