What Are We Thinking? A performance lecture which gives  critical analysis of our generation’s acceptance of music, films, news media, and ideas that are negative, ridiculous, and/or stupid.

A blend of social commentary, humor and Spoken Word performance- this special event is both entertaining and impactful, creating a necessary conversation for attendees of all ages and backgrounds.

Presented by Award winning nationally renowned HBO Def Poet, Ise Lyfe

There are other films & events @ the PAFF that are extremely interesting, I urge you to check them out, but I'm extremely excited about this one because I love Ise Lyfe, have seen him a number of times @ Flypoet, and enjoyed his "Pistols and Prayers" last time.

I'm sorry. With the high winds yesterday, my allergies were horrible. I thought that I could take medication and take a short nap. I woke up at midnight.

OMG!!! Wow, what a relevant incident to occur right before this show - wondering if Ise Lyfe will work it into the performance tonight. Lil Wayne has said some really stupid crap, but this is beyond belief! Is he really that ignorant, to compare "rough sex" to the racially motivated torture and murder of of Emmett Till? What a fool. Thank you Stevie Wonder for your wise and restrained words, hope he gets some sense knocked into his head over this, and has the you-know-whats to respond soon. http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2013/feb/14/lil-wayne-rap-mocks-civil-rights-hero

I saw this yesterday and thought the same thing. Very timely given tonight's show.

All for the sell of records! Come on - I was so furious after reading the article that I showed it around my dept at work to the youngsters. That was soooooo foul! I don't listen to much rap, and never Lil Wayne, so I wasn't aware of this until you posted the link, Carol. Ladies, please keep us all posted on the show and if Lyfe mentions it. WOW!

Looking forward to meeting up with all of you Friday night for this event. Note in the comments section that Stephani and a couple of other people are going to another movie @ 5:10, then dinner, before Ise Lyfe's movie. I'm unable to get there early to do that, but would be open to having a drink after the movie to talk about it. I'm not familiar with the mall but I see there's a "Wild Wings" bar & grill I believe, that's open until 1 am, we could stop in there if some or all of us want to talk about the movie. Anyway, we can play that part by ear, and of course feel free to post in the comments section if you want to suggest a place for dinner before the movie and try to get a group together for that.

Otherwise, I will see everyone at the entrance. Call me if you don't see me. Looks like there are about 5 people I haven't met yet so I look forward to meeting you.

This film is also part of the PAFF. I am seeing it at the Rave this Friday at 5:10pm, before Ise Lyfe's film. http://www.letclaybeclay.com/. If interested you should buy tix ahead of time as their Sat show last wknd s/o. Here's the link for tix: https://www.movietickets.com/purchase/perf_id/699678645/movieid/157323

The Rave Theaters are part of a big shopping center, so there will be plenty to do to kill time between films.
