SHOW STARTS @ 8:30, WE ARE MEETING @ 7:00 FOR PRE-SHOW PICNIC
Hip-hop-influenced dance troupe Culture Shock Los Angeles celebrates the triumphs and challenges of life with their newest piece, Roy Meets World. Inspired by Brazilian novelist Paolo Coelho's international best-seller The Alchemist, the show features spoken-word artists and a cast of 65 dancers illuminating a young man's search for his destiny. The book's parables about the importance of listening to your heart and the transformative power of following your dreams get a contemporary hip-hop spin as classic street dance styles and modern music elements create a compelling and inspirational fantasy world. We are getting discount tickets, $14.50 instead of $20.
PLEASE NOTE: YOU NEED TO PAY NOW WITH YOUR RSVP. If you are a "maybe" please wait until you are sure and are ready to pay for your ticket. Please pay via Paypal, see instructions below - if I don't receive payment (or contact regarding alternate arrangements if necessary), I will need to move you to the waitlist, so if you are not paying by Paypal with your RSVP, you must simultaneously contact me to make arrangements to pay by check, or pay on your next payday, or whatever, but I need that additional contact to confirm your RSVP. Thanks for understanding, it is very time-consuming to keep following up with people.
To pay by Paypal: log on to Paypal separately from Meetup. Enter "send money", then the amount $14.50 then my email - [masked], then click on "sending money to family or friends," then click on "continue" and in the next screen, scroll down and enter the name of the event you are paying for - Culture Shock - then click on "send money" on the bottom right.
We will meet @ 7:00 for a potluck picnic, we'll keep it casual, bring something to share and your own drinks (you can bring anything you want into the theater - alcohol, containers, glass bottles, etc.) Our picnic tables will be right in front of this waterfall, it's the last level, on the right, before your reach the plaza, it's called "Virginia Krueger Terrace."
