Ladies, this is a free-for-all discussion on the topic of family relationships. We don't like to admit it, but some of us have relatives who can be real pains. How do we deal with these difficult kin-people? How do we hold on to the family bond that others aren't interested in maintaining? How do we flow with all of the changes of the aging family, with the new generation who seems to have come from another family, another planet? How do we express to our children and grandchildren and nieces and nephews that at the end of the day, we are all they have? How do we tell our mothers, who may not have been there when we most needed them, that we love them? How do we say sorry to our parents who we, as young women, ran crazy with worry? How do we say to a father, grandfather, who has Alzheimers disease or dementia and doesn't know us anymore, that we're here, and it hurts us to see them this way? What would you say to your mother or father who passed away when you were a kid? Let's dig deep inside of ourselves and explore how we really feel, and say what needs to be said, if only to our sister's keepers. Please join me in this discussion. I need to be heard, and if you're like me, it's a long time coming...

The Roosevelt Café is at the entrance of Griffith Park just north of Los Feliz. Each time we've held events here, we were not interrupted by other patrons. We will reserve the picnic tables outside of the café, which are sectioned off from everyone else.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
