Rasmus Lerdorf, Creator of PHP, Distinguished Engineer at Etsy

Rasmus Lerdorf is known for having gotten the PHP project off the ground in 1995 and has contributed to a number of other open source projects over the years. He is also responsible for inventing the LIMIT clause way back in the mini-SQL days; LIMIT has since been copied to MySQL and other databases.

Rasmus was an infrastructure architect at Yahoo! for more than 7 years and joined Etsy in 2012. He was born in Greenland, grew up in Denmark and Canada and has a Systems Design engineering degree from the University of Waterloo.

    Did anyone else notice that if you type in the meetup address directly in google maps (137 Varick St. (near Spring St.) 3rd-Floor, New York, NY) it shows up in Staten Island! If you add the `C` & make it `New York, NYC` it shows the correct address in lower Manhattan. Looking forward to Monday :)
