The NYC Greek Mythology & Classical Literature Book Club Pages

This club is about meeting and hanging out with people like yourself who appreciates classic literature. We would be reading an assigned chapters and discuss it in the meetings how it affects our perception and how is the topic apply to today's modern living.

The subject will be around the Trojan war story, how it started, how it ended and also how it effect the main characters in the story as it was told by ancient authors such as Homer, Virgil, Ovid, Aeschylus, Sophocles...etc

Greek literature is the foundation of English literature. More than that, it is the language of the arts, as many of master painters, composer etc based their work on Greek Literature

We are currently reading Ovid's Metamorphoses. The book is compilations of short stories regarding the changes of people into another being. Members can come at any of the next few meetings and be current in the discusions because it's just compilations of short stories. We are not picky on which edition you have. Please make notes on the reading if there is a particular section that grabs your heart, and you would like to share with the group. Feel free to bring supplemental resources (pictures, items, etc) that is related to the reading.

*New Feature*
For those who didn't get the chance to read or re-read the chapters, I will be posting a short summary to refresh your memory. Then we all can be on the same page for discussions.
