There?s always a need for blood. In fact, every two seconds someone in the US is in need of a blood transfusion. Now, you have the power to save that person?s life by just giving up ONE HOUR of your time to come out in support of our inaugural blood drive on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the American Red Cross! To sign up as a blood donor, please register online by clicking on the following link:

What do you need to know about the blood donation process?

First and foremost, it is a SAFE and STERILE process! All blood-collecting personnel are professionally trained. All information collected will be kept strictly confidential. Essentially, blood donation involves a simple four-step procedure that takes about one hour to complete. The actual blood donation only takes 10 minutes.

Step 1 ? Registration & Medical History: Go over your basic eligibility requirements (>17 years old, weigh minimum of 110 lbs, and general good health). Please bring your blood donor card or other positive form of ID.

Step 2 ? Mini-Physical: Check your temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and red blood cell count level to ensure it is safe for you to give blood.

Step 3 ? Blood Donation: You will be seating or resting comfortably. Staff and volunteers are always available to address your questions or concerns.

Step 4 ? Refreshments & Resting: Post-donation, we will provide you a comfortable place to eat and rest.

After the blood donation, please also join your fellow NAAAP members and blood donors for a light lunch provided on-site (buffet style). Network and get to know one another, share in each other?s blood donating experiences, and together savor in the instant gratification of being a life-saver!
