*Workshop* Infant Photography with Mike McEwen Photography

Mike McEwen from has invited us for an Infant Photography workshop in his home studio in Eastport. There will be multiple infants ranging from 2-3 months in age. This workshop will be primarily a watch and learn. Mike will discuss infant photography shooting and posing techniques and Jen will act as assistant so you'll see the whole shooting process and working relationship between photographer and assistant.

This workshop is a watch and learn with some shooting ability. It is suggested that you bring a zoom lens to shoot the infants from a far out of the way during workshop discussions. Mike's Daughter Ellie will be one of the models. If Ellie is cooperating and is in a happy mood you will have the ability to get hands on and photograph her more closely. *This is only if she is in a happy mood and is completely at Mike's discretion.

This is a fantastic opportunity to observe multiple infant photography sessions start to finish while observing the interaction between photographer and infant. Learn tips and techniques for a successful infant session, what angles to shoot at and how to complete your shot list.  Babies can sometimes be very uncooperative and have a VERY limited time where we can get the shot. So at times we will move quickly. This will give you a very realistic idea of the behind the scenes workings of a infant photo shoot.

Throughout the workshop you will have the ability to ask questions as this will be an observing and discussion focused workshop. Class size will be limited for the best experience for all including the babies. This will also allow for more intimate discussions and attention.

The fee for this workshop is $40 dollars. Once a date has been announce the workshop fee is due within 24 hours to hold your spot. There are no refunds unless the workshop is cancelled or rescheduled. If the workshop is rescheduled you will have 48 hours to ask for a refund. If you have not yet asked for a refund you will be treated as an attendee for the new date and the refund policy is in effect.

A date will be determined soon and will be scheduled in the month of December. If you are interested please get on the RSVP list and we will release a date once our infant models are confirmed.

Are you planning on hosting this again in the near future? I'm busy on this date with a charity event but I am really interested in infant photography. I can even supply a baby.

One he starts sitting up on his own let us know. We try to do shoots in intervals of milestones. Once he gets going just gives us a shout and we can work something out.

Update: he's sitting, crawling, and I think I saw him walking out to the car with the keys...I can't make the 2/1 event - again I was asked to help with an event for military families.

Mike, I was unable to make the event this past Saturday with the babies because of a prior engagement. I would like to know if you plan to hold another event of this type with babies in the near future?

To those who are coming or thinking about coming please be on time. We are at the whim of these babies so we will be working on time and quick with them. If they are fussy we will wait. The babies own us lol.

Nadia, thanks! We are going to be really busy with what we have already, but we will definitely be doing this again so we will need more babies. Lol. We will let you know when we will do this again. How old is you kidney bean? 1 month?

Hello, I live abroad. Is it possible to attend via Skype or FaceTime? And will you host again in Feb or March?
    Thanks, Rhonda

This one may be tricky to stream. I will keep that in mind as we do it this weekend to see if it would be possible for the next one we offer. I'll keep you posting.

I have been testing how to do this and believe we may be close to a solution. In time for the session, probably not but close. Thanks!
