Using Heroku requires switching the database to PostgreSQL and if you are working with MySQL database it might be tedious to convert. Is there other deployments that are more flexible ?

Cloud66 or DigitalOcean could be nice alternatives.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried cloud66, ran into some issues, so I used heroku after all :)

Are we looking for some volunteers to each do a short presentation on a particular Rails app deployment technique? If so, I'd be happy to present how we create Debian packages to deploy our Rails apps at Lonely Planet.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
