I'm starting a new meetup for people to new to Ruby on Rails.  Note: This DOES NOT mean the Rails meetup is not for people new to Rails.  That meetup is and always will be beginner friendly.

The format is still wet cement, but right now it's 30 minutes of lesson, 60 minutes of working on your own project and seeking out help.  The basics of the lesson will be learning Rails through rebuilding Flickr from scratch.

I've limited the RSVP's to 24 each month to keep the 'class size' capped.  The lessons will build on each other, but anyone can show up to any meetup without any context.

There are no prerequisites to coming, but I will not spend meetup time installing Rails on a computer, so please get that installed before hand OR be content to work alongside someone with Rails already installed.

http://www.meetup.com/nashvillerails-beginners/

It meets 3rd Thursdays of each month except December at Centresource, 5:30 - 7pm.

Who should come

Beginners
Founders/entrepeneurs who want to build their own web applications
People new to web development
Designers who want to learn "the backend"
Developers who want to get into Ruby on Rails

Advanced Beginners
You've build an app before on Rails, but aren't a 'senior' developer.  You'll get stuff out of the lesson, be mentored AND can mentor beginners.

Non-beginners
Most of the class will not be a Rails lesson, but helping beginners, so experienced devs are highly desired to come out.  If the RSVP count is "full", and you are experienced, ignore that and come anyway.

Are you an experienced Rails developer who want to be involved?  Email me!

WATCH OUT IF YOU HIT REPLY!  (reply goes to like 400 people on this list, you can do that, just want you to know that before writing a personal message to me)

Josh
