Hey guys/girls, the next meetup (March 7) is for lightning talks. The 6-7pm presentation time will be used for a series of 5 minute short talks/presensations from anyone in the group.
What I want:
You don't have to, but please consider make a 5-minute talk to share at the Rails meetup. You can do slides, no slides, live coding, just talking.
Are you intimidated that you don't "know enough?" Don't be! Go ahead and share something.
Look back over what you have done over 2 months... what's something new you learned? Make a short talk on that. It doesn't need to be groundbreaking or mind-blowing. I just thought of an idea for myself: using/adding indexes and :null => false to your SQL database in Rails. See! that's not super-advanced, and a lot of people will probably get something new to use in their apps.
Topics boundaries: anything regarding web-development.
Every talk will be stopped at 5 minutes.
If you want to hook up your laptop to projector, come a little early to plug it in and see if there are any technical issues before hand.
Can you do a talk?
Please email me (warning: hitting reply goes to the WHOLE GROUP) so I have a feel for how many talks we might have. If you don't email me, you can still do a talk though.
