Since I've been working on deploying a Rails3 application, I thought I would share some of the documentation that I've found.

To get your gems installed on the deployment server, use:­

I also found that the method of copying files to the server that I preferred is:­

This allows you to do a checkout locally, and then use rsync to copy up the files. Since we have various servers, I really didn't want to install a private key for our source code repository on all the servers just to do the checkout. I'm happy to share my Capfile if anyone wants.
