Woodlands Indian Restaurant Monthly Meetup

Vegetarian Indian food. Please note the food is spicey! You may request mild, medium, or hot but even the mild is robust and tasty. They also serve vegan dishes. Be sure to ask.

If your a first timer the location may be difficult to see from West End Ave. It's on the ground floor of the Continental Condos but it's definitely not hard to find.  Right off I-440, minutes from Vanderbilt or downtown.

See you there.

I am so sorry I missed this, everyone. I actually got a flat tire on Charlotte and would have shown up VERY LATE!!!!!! :( I hope I can still see everyone at the Taco Mamacita Happy hour!

Steph - have had a change of plans for the day. I'm actually eating at Woodlands with my kids earlier. If still there, I may stop to say hi, but not stay. Susan

Woodlands etiquette question: In the past at Indian restaurants, when served a hot'n spicy dish that's a bit much for me, I've found that sips of lassi would instantly put out the fire of each bite, and I could continue to enjoy. BUT I'm assuming at this point that it could be pretty inconsiderate if not downright off putting and obnoxious to be guzzling a milk product at thsi meetup where vegans are in attendance! Does that sound right? I respect vegans mightily, but I don't know if I've ever met any in person (!) and this is a sincere question, hoping not to set off a vegetarian/vegan debate, conflict or anything. :^)

Personally, if you are willing to forgo eating meat for a meal, whether it be for taste or out of compassion, it's a great way to broaden and widen the heart. The fact that you thought to ask shows you are thinking of others. Whatever you choose is yours to decide.

Thanks Jennifer - and just for the record I haven't eaten meat for over 30 years and I figure that would be WAY out of line at one of these meetups. I'm mainly just thinking about the milk (lassi) factor, which for all I know is out of line too.

Plans change. If you won't be joining Nashvegans! for dinner at Woodlands, please RSVP not attending. The restaurant is setting aside a table for the group.
