From the Muir Valley Facebook page:
We are asking for volunteers to work along side the Access Fund Conservation Team on a trail building project in Muir Valley. The dates are May 6 and 7. You don't have to commit for the entire two days. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. This is a valuable opportunity to learn the correct methods for building approach trails. If you can make it, please contact us by email at: [masked]
From me (Adam Beck):
This is going to be a great trail day and a very enjoyable experience! For those of you who participate, Fox Mountain Guides will offer a free anchoring clinic ($125 value!) on Saturday morning.
In the clinic we'll cover how to build natural anchors and also how to safely rappel from bolted anchors after you've cleaned a route.
Meet at the new pavilion at Muir Valley (+37° 43' 27.96", -83° 38' 5.40") at 8:00 a.m. EST on Saturday if you plan to attend the clinic. Bring any gear you have.
Please remember to email '[masked]' if you plan to attend the trail day. Please also complete the online waiver for Muir Valley if you haven't already.
Fox Mountain Guides is donating two $50 gift certificates to give away at the trail day! WooHoo!
