Join the Nashville Hiking Meetup for a tour of the current exhibit, Rembrandt and the Dutch Golden Age: Highlights from the Detroit Institute of Arts, by a Frist Center docent.
From the exhibit description: “In the seventeenth century, the Dutch Republic enjoyed unprecedented wealth and prosperity and the period is known as the Dutch Golden Age. Painting and the decorative arts flourished in this small, predominantly Protestant nation in northwest Europe, which gained independence from the Catholic Kingdom of Spain in 1648 after nearly a century of intermittent war.”

This collection is on loan from the Detroit Institute of Arts and highlights the greatest Dutch masterpieces by artists such as Frans Hals, Jacob van Ruisdael, Jan Steen, Gerard Ter Borch, and the incomparable Rembrandt van Rijn.
Please arrive early to buy your ticket, then meet up in front of the gift shop. The tour will start promptly at 2:00 p.m.
Please be courteous to other members and do not hold a spot if you are not absolutely sure you will attend.
See directions and ticketing information at: http://fristcenter.org/visit/tickets.

March 9
I have been confirmed for the 1pm and now the 2pm. I plan on attending the earlier tour so open up a spot for 2pm.
March 4
I have the same question as Emily. Although I was on the original waiting list, I was not fast enough to sign up for the tour on the 9th. Aren't there 2 separate tours on the 9th?
February 14
Note to everyone - PLEASE... only sign up for one tour. If you are confirmed for a time slot to attend on any of the tours and you're still signed up on the waiting list of another tour, your Waiting List RSVP will be changed to Not Attending. It is not fair to other members who want to be able to participate to miss out on the opportunity because someone has signed up on multiple tours.

This is not an unexpected popular event! If anyone would like to organize a later event for the same or other exhibit at the Frist, please let me know. Mary Ellen tells me that the docents only need a couple of weeks' notice to plan. Please get in contact with Ronny at the Frist at [masked], set up a day and time, then let me know to post it: [masked]. Thanks for everyone's enthusiasm!

I 'll be there on March 9th with a guest, if there is space available...Thanks, Kelly!
