31st Ave N & Park Plaza, Nashville, TN
NOTE NEW START TIME: 4:00 p.m.
Join Nashville Hiking Meetup and Team Green Adventures for an Independence Day picnic at Centennial Park! Afterwards we'll head downtown via the Nashville Double Decker bus to watch the fireworks!
Here are the details:
Picnic - Everyone is welcome! – We’ll meet at Centennial Park's sand volleyball courts (back left corner by 31st and Park Plaza) starting at 4:00 for a picnic and some volleyball before heading downtown. Please bring whatever you’d like to eat, your favorite beverages and a side dish to share. Bring your own utensils and plates, we will provide cups, ice and a grill. Also bring a folding chair and if you have a volleyball or Frisbee, please bring it along with you.
Fireworks – according to a the Nashville Business Journal, a national survey ranked Nashville’s fireworks bash as the second best in the nation behind Philadelphia… and if you’ve seen it before, you’d have to agree that it’s a spectacular show!!! We will depart from Centennial Park at 6:15 on the British double decker bus to watch the fireworks in style.
What to Bring – Food for the picnic, frisbees, volleyballs, cornhole, and adult beverages for the bus ride to the fireworks.
Downtown by Car - If you'd prefer to skip the double decker ride but you'd still like to go downtown after the picnic, plan to meet up at the Batter's Box at 43 Hermitage Avenue.
Downtown by Bike - Feel free to bring your bikes and helmets to zip downtown (suggested route - Centennial Park to Batter's Box) and back for the fireworks. You can meet the rest of the gang at The Batter's Box or take in the fireworks on one of the Cumberland River bridges.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The picnic and bus to fireworks are two separate events. If you want on the bus, be sure to RSVP and pay here: http://www.meetup.com/nashville-hiking/events/106677772/
We hope to see you on the 4th!
I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
