Edible & Medicinal Plants - Long Hunter State Park

HIKE STATS:
Meeting Time: 3:00 PM
Meeting Place: Long Hunter State Park office located at 2910 Hobson Pike
Hike Distance: None
Estimated Program Time: 1 hour
Difficulty: Easy
Hike Leader: Ponda

Could you survive in the woods on our native plants? Learn to identify edible and medicinal plants and how to make delicious treats, thirst quenchers and natural remedies from plants that may be growing in your very own back yard. And try a few samples, too!

This will likely be an all-indoor program/discussion with no hiking involved.

No pets, please. Kids are welcome.

Directions to Long Hunter State Park office:

Enter Long Hunter State Park at the main park entrance (2910 Hobson Pike) and take the first right, which is the park office. The program will be inside the park office in the "Nature Circle" room.

For further directions or park information, call the park office at[masked]-2422.

Great class and teacher for starting to know about plants and their uses. Samples of teas made from them were passed around along with samples of the plants themselves.
