Join Neel Deshpande with Metro Parks for a leadership only, private hike on the newly acquired 600 acre Stones River Farm which will become part of the parks and greenways sytem. The property, on the Stones River and along the Stones River Greenway, was first identified in the 1990s as a green space priority for a regional park, according to Mayor Karl Dean's office.
The park would directly serve the Donelson, Hermitage and Old Hickory communities in northeastern Davidson County, and existing greenways connect it to downtown Nashville.
From Nashville on Lebanon Road, once you cross over Stones River (big green bridge), you take the immediate left and park at Stone Hall (the big mansion).
Three to four mile hike. No dogs, please. Bring bug spray, wear long pants, and bring a rain jacket just in case.
