Extended hike at Bells Bend

Bells Bend Outdoor Center is covered by over 11 miles of wonderful trails. We will travel several of them on this large loop around the park. Bring comfy shoes, plenty of water, and snacks.

I am new to the area and not familiar with Bells Bend. With the weather this week, do you expect it to be muddy? Thanks.

The park tends to drain fairly well. I wouldn't expect much mud, but there may be a little.

Hey there! What will the distance be for this hike? Is it appropriate for beginners with well behaved dogs? :)

Probably end up being 7-8 miles. It is flat, so beginners shouldn't have too much trouble, plus we will never be more than a couple miles from the parking lot if you decide to leave early. Dogs are great as long as they remain on a leash.

I'll have my dog with me. She's great on/off leash and loves hikes!

I have a question: Google maps is routing me from 40W way up Briley to Ashland City Highway back down to Old Hickory and it looks really out of the way? Is that the right way though? Someone told me its off of Charlotte but its not giving me the directions to get there from Charlotte? I live in Green Hills so would prefer a more direct route if there is one:) Thanks.

Thanks! I realized what I might have misunderstood. I think when they mentioned going under I40 they were talking about turning off of Charlotte onto Briley. I will look forward to it unless if the weather forecast improves...

I have a few questions: How many miles would we be walking? And how is the terrain? Is there lot of climbing involved? What's the difficulty level?

Probably between 7-8 miles. Flat, easy hiking.

I built phase one of Bells Bend Park in 2008 including the trails, bridge, parking and etc., but I never had opportunity to hike all the trails at the same time. Looking forward to hiking on them.

Am really enjoying exploring all of the fabulous parks in/around the Nashville area. Being new to Tennessee, this is a great way to get out, see new places and meet new people. Oh, and my dog will be with me. :)
