Hike with Mike - Honey Creek Trail - BSF

Join us for a favorite hiking location. This "acrobatic" hike includes scrambling up rock ledges, crawling through boulder falls and navigating many creek crossings. This is NOT a beginners hike. But for those who make the journey, rewards include unusual rock formations, spring wildflowers, spectacular views and scenery. We will carpool to the trail head from the Merrell Store in Green Hills. Bring water, lunch/snacks, sturdy hiking shoes. Limited to 16.

HIKE STATS:
• Meeting Time: 8:30 A.M.
• Meeting Place: Merrell Store – Upper Parking Deck – The Hill Center Green Hills
• Estimated Drive Time (one way): 3+ hour
• Hike Distance: Approx. 5.5 total miles with opportunity for alternate route
• Estimated Hike Time: 4-5 hours
• Difficulty: Moderate-to-Strenuous
• Hike Leader: Michael Hughes
• Notes: This is a moderate-to-strenuous hike with creek crossings, rock scrambling, some steep pathways (including ladders). We will be home late, stopping for dinner in Cookeville.

With the usual stops and slow downs in the small towns along the way, it's 3 to 3-1/2 hours.

Hey Mike, I wanted to see if I could meet up with you all somewhere besides the store? I could just follow you all from that point or jump in another car. I'm in Mt Juliet. If not, no problem . Just wanted to check and see.Thank you

I cannot meet you at the Nashville location . Is there a spot near trail where it's easy to find the group?

Is there any way someone can provide me a trail map and a valid address for the trailhead of this hike. I would greatly appreciate it!

    April 6, 2014

    • Rebecca m.

I went to the link and it said page not found but I actually found a map to the place in my hiking book but thanks anyhow.

I would like to come with my dog if there is any objection, just let me know!

    April 7, 2014

    • Kelly S.

Yes, Armelle, the trail is open for dogs and you're welcomed to do this on your own with Barcula. However, with 15 humans going, led by Michael Hughes, I defer to his leadership and agree this is not the trail for dogs plus many people.

      April 7, 2014

    • Armelle Le G.

Yes there is no problem I thanks Mike to let me know for the ladders, and also that's why I prefer to do it alone or with a smaller group

This is my favorite hike in Tennessee, and one that Mike originally introduced me to. Do not miss this (and if you do, we'll offer it again!) and do not RSVP "yes" unless you fully intend to go.
